Terrie Remington was born in Rockville Centre, New York, and studied art in Phoenix, Arizona; the University of Arizona at Tucson; in San Francisco with Frank Milner; the Esquela de Bellas Artes in Madrid, Spain; and the Mendocino Art Center in California. Remington's work doesn't just capture the essence of a subject, but the passion she feels for the people and nature around her. Her combination of clay, acrylics, and fiber are used in unique forms to connect the emotional and spiritual to the physical art form. Terrie Remington resides in Astoria, Oregon
Terrie’s words about her art: “It’s not enough for me to capture the essence of a subject .. I need to get to the passion of it, the emotional fire, the driving force. I choose to work with sculpture and color. The tactile quality of the sculpture provides information of depth and energy; the colors speak in a more spiritual realm. I use whatever media necessary to manifest that elusive quality that connects the emotional and spiritual to the physical art form.”
